How to choose a snow-removal company in Ottawa without comparing guesses.
A polished website or a broad service label does not tell you whether two providers are offering the same scope. Compare the work in the same order: property, route, rhythm, storage, communication, and written boundaries.
Write the property brief first
Record the property type, neighbourhood, surfaces, entrances, steps, parking, gates, slopes, and places snow can be staged. A consistent brief lets you ask different providers the same starting question.
Compare scope, not adjectives
Ask which areas are included, what is considered plowing versus hand work, whether materials are part of the conversation, and how a second visit or larger event is discussed. Avoid treating “full service” as a measurable scope.
Check communication and decision-making
