Snow hauling in Ottawa starts with the space you do not have.
Snow can be moved beside a route for a while, but some properties eventually need a different plan. Use this guide to describe limited storage, loading access, and the questions that separate on-site relocation from haul-away.
Identify the storage problem
Explain which piles are narrowing a walkway, reducing sightlines, taking up parking, blocking a loading area, or leaving no room for the next event. Photos or a simple site sketch can make the constraint clearer later.
Describe how a vehicle reaches the pile
Note gates, overhead limits, turning space, narrow lanes, parked cars, and the route between the pile and a loading position. Commercial and multi-unit sites should identify who coordinates access when the property is busy.
Separate relocation from haul-away
Ask whether the conversation is about moving snow to another part of the property or removing it from the site. These are different scopes with different access and timing questions.
Discuss event timing without assumptions
Ask when a hauling visit can be considered, how a larger event changes the conversation, and what information needs to be confirmed before work starts. Do not treat a general service label as proof of live capacity.
